Andrea Antrich, 24, pleaded no contest in Pittsburg County District
Court last month to a felony charge of second-degree rape for having a
sexual relationship with the teen.
Miss Antrich, of Quinton, was originally charged in December with
five counts of second-degree rape. She faced up to 15 years for each
count.
Former substitute teacher Andrea Antrich, 24, pleaded no
contest to a felony charge of second-degree rape for having a sexual
relationship with a 17-year-old student
After pleading no contest, Antrich was sentenced to a 10-year suspended sentence and the rest of the charges were dismissed.Authorities say Antrich had an on-going sexual relationship with the 17-year-old in October and November of last year.
According to a court affidavit cited by McAlester News-Capital, Quinton Police Chief Tim Reavis was called to Quinton High School November 29, 2012, after getting a tip that a teacher was having an affair with a student.
When the police chief confronted the 24-year-old teacher about the allegations, Antrich confirmed that she and the student did have a sexual relationship, according to the affidavit.
