Ideye joined West Brom on a club record transfer fee of 10 million pounds in the summer of 2014 and got his first goal in the 3-1 loss to Man City on boxing day.
He has been plagued with injury since the move from Dynamo Kyiv in July.
"It was a tough start but right now I'm happy to be in the first team plans.
"It's the worst feeling to be mentally ready and unable to play due to injury, but that's football.
"Now that I get the chance to make a contribution, it would also be nice to reward those fans who stood by me, the manager and my teammates.
"I've been given a big chance by a manager who believes in me. He's always prepared to back me and as a result I would do the same for him by doing what I know how to do best - score goals,'' Ideye told BBC Sport before the game againstManchester City.
The 26 year-old was out to prove doubters wrong and he did when notched one and the Albions' only goal past Joe Hart at the 87th minute on a snowy night.
