Wamakko inaugurates Sokoto APC campaign, peace panels

Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State, on Saturday inaugurated three committees to devise strategies of ensuring total victory for the APC in the 2015 general elections in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the committees were for campaign , reconciliation and contact.
The 33-man state campaign committee is chaired by Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, a one time governorship candidate of the defunct Democratic Peoples Party in the 2011 election while the All Peoples Part’s governorship running mate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, will serve as secretary.
The reconciliation committee is headed by a former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco, Amb. Shehu Wurno, with Dr Yakubu Maccido as Secretary, while the contact committee has the former state chairman of the defunct DPP, Alhaji Umarun Kwabo, as chairman.
Similarly, a 25-man campaign committee was set up for each of the three senatorial zones in the state, as well as other members for each of the 23 local government areas.
Wamakko said the committees would devise strategies to ensure total victory for the party in the 2015 general elections.
The governor added that the party would remain united, assuring the people that old and new members would be treated equally.
”All these committees and several others in the pipeline will be operational across the state, including the wards and polling station levels. ‘The members should work with the fear of God and work diligently, ” Wamakko urged.
Respondng on behalf of the members, Dr Abubakar Sokoto, pledged that the members would work relentlessly to ensure the success of the party at all levels in the forthcoming elections.
NAN  also reports that the event was witnessed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal.
