A Lagos State Magistrate court sitting in the Ikeja area of the state has had three persons brought before it over allegations of theft.
The three suspects were arrested after it was revealed that they allegedly conspired to steal and eventually stole jewellery reportedly worth N4.3million
Oluchi Nwogu, 18, Onyekachi Godfrey, 37 and Yakubu Musa, 34, allegedly took the jewellery, belonging to one Justina Okpoh, from Road 64, Vac House, 24, in the Lekki area of the state.
PM News reports:
Prosecutor, Inspector Roman Unuigbe, said that the offence committed is punishable under Section 409 Criminal Laws of Lagos 2011.
Unuigbe said the defendants conspired to steal the jewelries.
The trio however pleaded not guilty to the two count charge.
The magistrate, Mrs. Abimbola Komolafe, however granted the defendants bail in the sum of N250,000 each with two sureties.
She adjourned the case to 12 December, 2013.
Yesterday, another Ikeja Magistrate Court demanded a N20,000 bail bond for an artisan charged with stealing N500.
