NDLEA Surrounds Kashamu’s House

Officers and men of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) have surrounded the house of alleged drug baron, Kashamu in Ogun State, with a view to extradite him to US to face drug-related charges.

The home of Ogun state Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, has been surrounded by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to Channels TV, the NDLEA is making moves to extradite the Kashamu to the United States of America to answer drug related charges against him in the country.
Kashamu had recently sued the chairman of the National Drug Laws Enforcement Agency and 11 others over an alleged plot to extradite him to the United States of America to face trial on alleged offences.
The politician is believed to have been indicted for being involved in a drug operation in Chicago in 1998.

Guber Results Not True Reflection Of Tarabans – Alhassan

All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the last governorship election in Taraba State, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan has said that the results declared by INEC was not the true reflection of Taraba people’s votes.
Aisha, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an interview with journalists said she would continue to challenge the victory of Mr Darius Ishaku of PDP until she regain her ‘stolen mandate’.
alhassanLEADERSHIP recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared PDP’s Darius Ishaku winner of the Taraba State governorship election after getting 369,318 votes as against 275,984 votes by APC’s Aisha Alhassan.
“As I’m speaking with you, I have submitted my petition to the tribunal secretary, to challenge the process and outcome of the gubernatorial election which was not the true reflection of Taraba people,” she said.
She further debunked the rumours that she had rescinded her decision to go to the tribunal after being settled with a ministerial slot by the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, adding that it was a ploy by the PDP to deceive the public.
She stressed that it was too early for anybody to begin to peddle such rumours when the government of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was yet to be inaugurated.
“I have heard these rumours, I’m sure these are PDP rumours because they don’t want me to file this petition.
They know that the mandate of the people is mine and I am more determined than ever before to get back this mandate given to me by sons and daughters of the state , she noted.
She explained that she is assure of getting justice at the Election Tribunal, noting that were ‘glaring evidence and facts’ to prove that she won the governorship election in the state.

APC, Shettima, Atiku, Mourn Sen Zannah

Tributes have continued to trail the sudden demise of Senator Ahmed Zannah, who died on Saturday.
Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, yesterday joined millions of Borno indigenes in mourning the sudden death of the senator, describing him as a legislator who stood in defence of Borno’s masses.
ahmed-zannaSimilarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condoled with the family of the late senator, describing his death as a huge loss not just to the people of Borno State but to Nigeria.
APC in statement by its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, while describing Sen. Zannah’s death as huge loss to his family, state and the senate, prayed that God will strengthen the family so that it can bear the irreparable loss
Shettima hailed the passion of the late lawmaker as one who chose to stand on the side of his people in the darkest days of insurgency attacks.
A statement by the spokesman of Governor Shettima, Isa Gusau, said the governor was thrown into grief on receiving news about the senator’s death.“The late senator defied fears and consistently pushed authorities into rising up to their obligations to protect lives and property of Nigerians. At every point there were attacks or potential threats to communities, Senator Zannah was always the first to come public demanding the rights of the masses to security of their lives and freedom. He regularly stood for the masses without compromising for one second.”
Meanwhile Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described the late Senator Zannah as one of the greatest grassroots politicians he had ever met in the course of his interactions with leaders.
The former Vice President, was reacting to the death in a statement issued by his media office in Abuja yesterday.
He said he was amazed by the level of zeal and sincerity with which Senator Zanna had represented his people.

Scores Of Boko Haram Fighters Killed As Nigerian Army Destroys 10 Camps


An unspecified number of Boko Haram fighters have been killed by soldiers fighting for the liberations of Nigerian territories, as 10 additional camps used by terrorists were overrun in the continuing offensive operations against the terrorists in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, North-East Nigeria.


“The Dure camp, which is one of the most prominent camps in the forest, witnessed the fiercest battle as the Special Forces descended heavily on it before it finally fell,” said Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade.

According to Olukolade in a statement issued minutes ago in Abuja,
“Four of the campswere located in a place called Iza within the forest while three others were noted to be recently established by the terrorists before the assault began. One soldier died from one of the land mineencountered in the operation while two others were also wounded.
“The terrorists lost a number of vehicles mounted with Anti-Aircraft Guns as well as armoured vehicles. Some of the terrorists who escaped from the camps also died as they ran into troops ambush in some escape routes from the forest.”

Nigerian Student Breaks 50-Year Record, Graduates With 1st Class From Japanese University


 A Nigerian student who studied Robotics and Electrical Engineering at the Tokai University, Tokyo, Japan, has emerged the best all round graduating student of the institution this session, the Pulse reports.
The young man, identified as Ufot Ekong graduated with First Class Honours.
The last time anyone graduated with a similar Grade Points Average (GPA) from that University was 50 years ago.

Mr. Ufot Ekong, is certainly a multi-talented Nigerian youth, is also a musician, specialising in the Saxophone. He distinguished himself from the outset in the school when he won the Japanese language best student award.
