Nkese Iroakazi, who allegedly set 11-year-old Ita Bassey-Eno on fire
has been ordered by a Yaba Magistrate court to be remanded at Kirikiri
Prison till October.
Mrs. Iroakazi allegedly poured kerosene on the girl and subsequently lit a match which she threw on the girl. The young victim reportedly died a week after the incident at the Gbadaga General Hospital.
According to reports, Iroakazi, a nurse, was detained at the Bode Thomas Police Station and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID until she was arraigned in court.
The accused was charged with the murder of Ita Bassey-Eno and refused bail by the court when she was arraigned.
The incident, the court heard, occurred on July 27, 2013 when residents of Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere heard the deceased screaming for help.
