Aisha, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an interview with journalists said she would continue to challenge the victory of Mr Darius Ishaku of PDP until she regain her ‘stolen mandate’.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared PDP’s Darius Ishaku winner of the Taraba State governorship election after getting 369,318 votes as against 275,984 votes by APC’s Aisha Alhassan.
“As I’m speaking with you, I have submitted my petition to the tribunal secretary, to challenge the process and outcome of the gubernatorial election which was not the true reflection of Taraba people,” she said.
She further debunked the rumours that she had rescinded her decision to go to the tribunal after being settled with a ministerial slot by the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, adding that it was a ploy by the PDP to deceive the public.
She stressed that it was too early for anybody to begin to peddle such rumours when the government of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was yet to be inaugurated.
“I have heard these rumours, I’m sure these are PDP rumours because they don’t want me to file this petition.
They know that the mandate of the people is mine and I am more determined than ever before to get back this mandate given to me by sons and daughters of the state , she noted.
She explained that she is assure of getting justice at the Election Tribunal, noting that were ‘glaring evidence and facts’ to prove that she won the governorship election in the state.
