The Vice Chancellor, who gave the warning at the matriculation of the new students, urged the students to strive for academic excellence to justify the Federal Government and their parents’ investments.
Braide urged the students to always attend lectures as 75 per cent attendance was the prerequisite to write examinations.
The VC said the institution would punish anyone found flouting the regulations of the university.
“I call on all of you to take your studies seriously and shun anything contrary to the rules governing the activities of the institutions.
“Anyone caught involved in them will face the full wrath of the law,” she said.
She assured the students of the university commitment to train and offer them entrepreneural skill that would make them productive after graduation.
She said as part of efforts to encourage academic excellence, the management of the institution came up with scholarship scheme for outstanding students.
“Students, who make three points and above in their first year would enjoy scholarship from the school and will not pay fees as long as they maintain the grade,” she said.
The Vice Chancellor announced that 17 students from various departments, who made three points and above, were offered scholarship in the 2013/2014 session.
