The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications will be responsible for corporate communications, with a primary focus on supporting efforts to elevate the profile of Forbes Media in the trades and business press, and drive publicity for diverse departments from sales and marketing to new business development and the company’s thought leadership research practice Forbes Insights. Experience with crisis communications and issues management is required. In addition, this individual will write press releases and bi-lined articles, and research and prepare company award submissions. This position reports to Forbes Media’s SVP of Corporate Communications.
The right candidate will have strong relationships with business, trade, wire, online and broadcast press, have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as deep knowledge of social media, have a strong background in crisis communications and issues management, be experienced working with the C-level suite, and be able to work on multiple ongoing projects under deadline.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Position Forbes Media in the trades and business press, publicizing the media company’s leadership position in the media industry, innovation and business momentum.
- Handle incoming requests for trade and business press interviews.
- Support senior management by pitching stories about business successes, preparing briefing memos, developing messaging and providing media training (as necessary).
- Collaborate with sales & marketing, and new business development departments as well as the thought leadership research team for Forbes Insights, and determine PR opportunities. Also attend their staff meetings.
- Support sales & marketing’s efforts to develop innovative paid social media programs for advertisers that drive incremental sales revenue for Forbes.
- Support crisis communications efforts and issues management.
- Develop/write/disseminate press releases about company news, new hire announcements and key business initiatives.
- Assist in writing bi-lined articles and speeches.
- Assist in managing, researching and developing key submissions and nominations for key editorial and trade awards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, including business, trade, broadcast, wire and online.
- Generate consistent and maximum publicity for Forbes Media and its businesses.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- College degree required
- 5-7 years of experience in relevant position in corporate communications Strong relationships with trade, online, business, wire and broadcast press
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience working with C-level suite
- Deep knowledge of social media
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work within deadlines
- Team player with strong attention to detail and good time management skills
