Olubolade campaign posters flood Bayelsa

Campaign posters of Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (retd.), have flooded Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State’s capital.
The posters indicated that the minister would be vying as a governorship aspirant under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ekiti State governorship election in 2014.
Olubolade, a retired Navy captain, was the second military administrator of Bayelsa State from 1997 to 1998 after it was carved out of the old Rivers State on October 1, 1996, by the late Gen. Sani Abacha regime.
The posters raised curiosity among some residents, who wondered the rationale behind the posters since Olubolade is not a Bayelsa indigenes.
Investigations by our correspondent indicated that a Yenagoa-based group, Bayelsa Transformation Supporters for Olubolade 2014, was behind the campaign in the state.
There were further indications that some foot soldiers of President Goodluck Jonathan were the brains behind the association.
Inscriptions on the posters, placed  in various parts of the metropolis, described him as “tested and trusted” and that “he did it in Bayelsa and now is the time to do it in Ekiti State.”
